The University of Bedfordshire has teamed up with Luton Council to provide higher apprenticeships for some of their employees.

Luton Council have built a new skills platform, and are now at a stage to add your organisation (if you wish) on to the system.

Machins Solicitors LLP, one of Luton’s most established law firms, will be moving from its Victoria Street office, to new offices on Dunstable Road, Luton.

On Wednesday 2nd May, London Luton Airport (LLA) will be holding its first “How to Bid for Contracts” event. Local businesses will be able to gain insight from LLA’s procurement team to help them compete during LLA’s tendering process.

March 30th 2017: Luton-based construction firm Ryebridge has been awarded a multi-million-pound contract as part of London Luton Airport’s (LLA) current transformation project. The £7 million contract will directly support 40 local jobs including 3 apprentices.

As part of the Local Plan examination process, Capital & Regional has set out a vision for a multi-functional town centre, thriving daytime and evening, seven days a week, and has shown that Luton can achieve economic growth in the town centre, adapting to changing 21^st century lifestyles without relying on out-of-centre development.

Bedfordshire is on a roll at the moment. From the Airlander project at Cardington to progress in plans for a new stadium for the Hatters, there is a real sense of economic momentum across the region.

The economic impact reports outline the proposed plans to relocate Luton Town FC's current football stadium from Kenilworth Road to a site at Power Court in the centre of Luton and for the development of Newlands Park near Junction 10 of the M1.

We have just been informed that the Rotary Bandstand for Luton Charitable Trust has won planning permission to build its proposed new 21st century bandstand in Grade II Listed Wardown Park.
