Free language courses

Written by Paula Devine | 18 Sep 2013

FREE language courses at the University of Bedfordshire are now available to Luton businesses looking to expand into international markets.

'International market expansion via multilingual business communication' is a language and culture programme delivered by the University’s Knowledge Hub, with a limited number of fully funded places available for Luton based businesses.

Free* evening classes start in October and will include Arabic (standard), Chinese (Mandarin), Spanish, German and Russian.

The Knowledge Hub’s Marketing and Communications Co-ordinator, Agnieszka Piatkowska said: “By providing a chance to master a second language, Luton based businesses not only invest in their staff development, but also potentially improve their international expansion and growth prospects.”

The University’s language courses programme, which began back in 1998, is funded by the European Social Fund in partnership with Luton Borough Council. It focuses on speaking and understanding spoken language, as well as cultural understanding.

For more information and to book a place, please contact the Knowledge Hub on 0800 328 5334 or email knowledge@beds.ac.uk

*Eligibility criteria apply: This funded course is targeted at small and medium sized businesses and enterprises (SMEs) in the Luton area (postcodes LU1- LU4) with 2 - 249 employees working in eligible sectors.
