As we look ahead to 2026, one event already stands out as a highlight in our calendar: the return of the SME Bedfordshire Business Awards. Now entering their ninth year, the Awards continue to grow in stature, profile and impact and we are proud to once again serve as organiser and host.

This year’s theme, “Your Business Belongs in the Spotlight,” captures exactly what these Awards exist to do: shine a light on the outstanding organisations, people and achievements that make our county such a vibrant and ambitious place to do business.

These Awards champion innovators, risk-takers, community contributors and the dedicated teams whose drive and resilience power Bedfordshire’s economy every single day. And, with selected category winners progressing to the SME National Business Awards, local businesses have the chance to achieve national visibility too - local recognition today, national profile tomorrow.

Each year, the Awards grow in stature, credibility and visibility. After yet another record year for entries in 2025, we are aiming even higher for 2026, encouraging more organisations of all sizes and sectors to step forward and tell their story.

The 2026 Award Categories

22 categories showcase the diversity, innovation and excellence of Bedfordshire’s SME community. The full list spans enterprise, sustainability, leadership, high growth, sector excellence, community contribution, people awards, and more – reflecting the depth and breadth of talent across our county.

Whether you are a new business, an established employer, a high-growth innovator or a committed community champion, there is a category designed with you in mind. 

Key Dates: How to Enter

• Pre-launch entries are now open, ahead of our official launch
• Official launch event on 15th January 2026, hosted by The Bedford College Group
• You can enter up to three categories, and the process is fully online at bedfordshireawards.co.uk
• Entry deadline is 5pm on Friday 13^th March 2026

We strongly recommend early preparation so you have time to gather the supporting evidence that will help your achievements shine.

Judging, Finalists and Celebrations

Judging will take place throughout March and April, followed by the announcement of the finalists.

Our winners will then be revealed at the Awards Gala Dinner and Presentation Ceremony on Thursday 18th June 2026 at The Marquee, Bedford
