The true cost for Brits of each supermarket visit - Signature Masks to cut back costs

Written by Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce | 14 Sep 2020

As Government guidance means that face coverings will be part of the ‘new normal’ for the foreseeable future, a 19-year-old British entrepreneur is doing what he can to make everyday activities as cost-effective and easy

as possible, with affordable face coverings delivered to your door weekly at the click of a button.

With Brits now having to wear face coverings on public transport, in galleries, in shops and in schools, the cost of protection can mount up.

Recent research has revealed that while 56% of Brits visit the supermarket 1-2 times per week, more than one third take 3-4 trips each week . With major retailers selling 10 disposable face coverings for as much as £6.99, consumers can be spending £11.18 a month on disposable face coverings for supermarket visits alone. And with the government now urging people to go back to the office, the British public will feel the pinch.

19-year-old first year university student, James Eid from London, has embarked on a mission to ensure that high quality, high value face coverings are accessible to individuals and businesses across the UK, no matter their budget. Inspired by his struggle to find affordable face coverings to visit his grandmother who suffers from Bechet’s disease, he launched Signature Masks, selling disposable face coverings manufactured in Britain - rather than imported - for as little as £3.99 for 10, with no hidden costs and no delivery costs.

James is also making purchase as easy as possible with a subscription service that ensures face coverings are arriving to customers on a weekly basis.

He says: ‘Face coverings are now an unavoidable part of our everyday lives, which is why I’m so keen to provide high quality, affordable options to individual and families, as well as businesses and schools. It’s important for them to be available through convenient channels too, like subscription services. This way, even those with busy schedules or those who can’t make regular purchases are always fully-equipped.’

Signature Masks offers two categories of face coverings. Civilian Grade face coverings (available in ‘biscotti’ and ‘roasted coffee’ skin tones) are a 3-ply non-woven construction with water resistant properties, whilst High Filtration non-medical face coverings (available in ‘blue’) are laboratory-tested, meeting medical standards for splash resistance and breathability.

Consumers can purchase the masks by visiting Signaturemasks.co.uk
