SEMLEP - Private Sector Board Directors

Written by Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce | 27 Sep 2018

We live and work in one of the most innovative, fastest growing places in the country.

Located at the centre, between the global brands of Oxford and Cambridge, London and Birmingham, our area is proudly and firmly the Commercialisation Core of the Growth Corridor.

This is the place where businesses, research and innovation truly drive the UK’s economy and this is the place that will achieve double-digit growth for the future.

Do you have what it takes to lead and shape the economic growth ambitions of the South East Midlands?

If you do, and you are in a business based in the South East Midlands, we want to hear from you.

SEMLEP is looking for private sector directors to join the SEMLEP Board. This is a non-remunerated role that will position you on a leadership platform that secures and directs major national and local investment in the area.

You will take decisions on where to target activities to drive up productivity, create jobs and tackle the key issues facing our businesses. You will be an advocate for the future prosperity of your area. You will challenge businesses to capitalise on growth opportunities and help to celebrate their successes.

SEMLEP is a highly-performing Local Enterprise Partnership, with big ambitions. As a private sector Board director, you will work with your public sector colleagues to oversee our performance and monitor the robust assurance measures we have in place.

We are keen for our board to reflect the full diversity of the South East Midlands area and very much welcome applications from business representatives from across the full range of age, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, faith or ability.

Download the full Board role description and specification.
Applicants are invited to send in a CV and covering letter outlining your ambitions to join the Board and how you meet the desired specification.

Please note the closing date for applications is 5pm, 31 October 2018. Please send in your application to leanne.nadal@semlep.com

We welcome a conversation with anybody who is interested in applying for the positions available. To arrange a confidential phone call with Hilary Chipping, Chief Executive, please speak to Leanne Nadal on 01234 436 100 or email leanne.nadal@semlep.com to agree a suitable time.
