Red Event Production is entering a defining new phase, with the move into a purpose-built 12,500 sq ft facility marking a major milestone for the Bedfordshire-based events specialist.
Specialising in full-service event production, the business delivers Audio Visual, staging and technical solutions for corporate events, awards and brand activations across the UK and beyond.
For Managing Director Oliver Gee, this move is far more than a change of premises. It is the culmination of a series of deliberate decisions that have positioned the business for its next chapter.
“This move brings everything together,” he explains. “We’ve invested in the kit, the systems and the team. Now we’re creating a space that properly reflects what we can deliver.”
Built to showcase capability and culture
Relocating from a 3,000 sq ft warehouse to a custom-built 12,000 sq ft facility represents a significant step forward.
The new space has been designed around how the business operates, with dedicated workshops, expanded warehouse capacity, office and meeting areas, and pre-build spaces where ideas can be tested and experienced before going live.
For clients, that means greater confidence from the outset, with the ability to see how an event will come together before it happens.
However, the move is not just about capability. It is also about creating an environment that reflects the company’s culture. From a shared kitchen space designed to bring the team together, to plans for open days and client events, the new facility has been built with people in mind as much as performance.
“We want people to come in, see what we do and feel how we work,” Oliver says. “That’s a big part of what makes us different.”
A business built on people who care
At the heart of Red Event Production is a clear philosophy: deliver events people are proud to put their name to, delivered by great people, great kit, and a team that takes ownership and cares.
“We don’t just deliver events,” Oliver explains. “We care about them. We care about the outcome, the experience and the people we’re working with.”
That approach has helped the business build strong, long-term relationships, with the majority of work coming from repeat clients who see Red Event Production as a trusted partner rather than a supplier.
The team works with a wide range of clients, from established brands to growing businesses, delivering events across the UK and internationally.
Internally, that same mindset shapes the culture. Whether it is cooking breakfast together once a month or simply creating space for the team to connect, the focus is on building a business people enjoy being part of.
As Oliver puts it: “We’re not here to churn out events. We’re here to deliver something people genuinely care about.”
Strong foundations behind the scenes
While culture is central, Red Event Production has also invested heavily in its capability.
More than £1 million has been committed to equipment in recent years, strengthening the technical offer and enabling the team to deliver it to deliver increasingly complex projects.
At the same time, operations have been streamlined through the barcoding and systemisation of every asset/process.
“It gives us confidence on every job,” Oliver explains. “Everything that should be there is there.”
For clients, that translates into reliability and peace of mind.
Strategic growth, done with intent
The new warehouse is the latest step in a carefully considered growth journey.
Following the disruption of the pandemic, Red Event Production adapted quickly, pivoting into virtual and hybrid events before scaling again as live events returned. The business moved from a period of zero activity to doubling its pre-pandemic performance within 18 months.
Since then, growth has been driven by a series of intentional decisions.
A full rebrand repositioned the business, unlocking new opportunities and strengthening its market presence, while the acquisition of a Northampton-based production company added further capability.
Investing in people, community and connections
Red Event Production’s focus on people extends beyond its own team.
The business works closely with local education institutions including the Bedford College Group, supporting open days and giving students hands-on exposure to real event production environments. From showcasing equipment to engaging directly with learners, the aim is to inspire the next generation to consider careers in the industry.
“It’s important to give people that first opportunity,” Oliver says. “We all start somewhere.”
As a member of Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce, the business has also found value in building connections locally. For Oliver, membership is not just about networking, but about building genuine relationships with other businesses and being part of a wider community.
“It’s been a great way to connect with other businesses locally,” he explains. “You start to build relationships that go beyond just business, and that’s where the real value is.”
Alongside this, the business continues to play an active role in the wider community and industry, including being a platinum sponsor of the SME Bedfordshire Awards, supporting and celebrating local business success.
Small by design, strong by reputation
Despite its growth, Red Event Production has remained clear on what it wants to be known for. “We don’t want to be the biggest,” Oliver says. “We want to be the company people enjoy working with.”
That means being approachable, reliable and easy to work with, while delivering high standards every time. “People buy from people,” he adds. “If you’ve got a team that cares, that shows in everything you do.”
For clients, its working with a team that combines technical expertise with a genuinely collaborative approach, ensuring every event is delivered seamlessly and with confidence.
Looking ahead
With a new facility, a strengthened team and a clear strategy, Red Event Production is entering its next phase from a position of confidence.
The business has grown through a combination of smart decisions, strong relationships and a clear sense of identity. The new warehouse now provides a platform to build on that.
Looking ahead, the company is also preparing to mark its 20th anniversary in 2027, with plans for a large-scale celebration bringing together clients, partners and everyone who has been part of the journey.
It is a fitting reflection of what Red Event Production is all about: creating memorable experiences and bringing people together.
