Make Every Contact Count for the Health of Your Workforce

Written by Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce | 10 Jun 2019

Making Every Contact Count (MECC) is an NHS initiative to encourage and help people to make healthier choices to achieve positive, long-term behaviour change. MECC training is available online or in person – FREE of charge for Luton businesses or workplaces – and aims to help employers and employees alike to make the most of the everyday interactions we all have with other people both professionally and personally.

The aim is to encourage behaviour change through the principles of MECC including:

• Being confident talking about key areas of health and wellbeing – stop smoking, reducing alcohol intake, increased physical activity, maintaining a healthy weight & diet and promoting emotional wellbeing
• Developing healthy conversation skills
• Understanding local and national services available to help people make lifestyle changes
