CENTRAL BEDFORDSHIRE COLLEGE MEANS BUSINESS IN LEIGHTON BUZZARD

Written by Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce | 21 Aug 2019

Central Bedfordshire College is delighted to be expanding its course provision at its Leighton Buzzard campus.

The campus opened in September 2017 as a state-of-the-art engineering and construction centre, and following feedback from the local area, the College will soon be adding Business courses to the curriculum options available at the campus. Its modern facilities and central location will make it an ideal option for further education for students from Leighton Buzzard and the surrounding areas.

Learning Area Manager for Business courses, Amberina Ali, commented, “Central Bedfordshire College is committed to meeting the employment and training needs of the local area so we are thrilled to be able to offer a wider range of courses from our Leighton Buzzard campus. A qualification in Business is incredibly valuable and versatile, and can lead to a variety of exciting careers, so our courses at Leighton Buzzard will enable more learners from the region to access these opportunities.”

The decision by the College to expand their provision reflects the growth in demand for skills in the business and finance sector within the region, which has risen in recent years and is now nearly 20% above the national average.
Central Bedfordshire College aims to enable their students to achieve their maximum potential with strong support, integrity and love of learning. Their industry-grade facilities, friendly environment and strong partnerships with local businesses and universities ensure that learners at CBC develop an excellent work ethic in a realistic setting, and are then able to flourish and thrive in whatever path they choose, whether that be the workplace or higher education.

They offer a range of courses from Level 1 to HE, including Access to Higher Education courses, so that no student or prospective student is limited by their academic background. They also have a strong provision for students with learning difficulties, reflecting their dedication to inclusion.

Located across a number of campuses throughout the county with a curriculum based heavily around the needs of the region, CBC provides high quality teaching and learning, rated Silver by TEF. Alongside their academic and vocational training, students are provided with exceptional pastoral support from the College’s award-winning Student Services Team (TES FE Award for Professional Services Team of the Year 2018) and Matrix-accredited education, information, advice and guidance from their dedicated Careers Team to ensure positive progression.
