UOB student crowned region's 'Student Employee of the Year'

University of Bedfordshire student Natalie Sibley has been crowned Student Employee of the Year.  Natalie, aged 22, from Melksham, Wilts, is studying for an MSc in Tourism and Events Manager at the University and is also a part-time Recruitment Services Advisor.

 

She has also been helping with administration for the Chamber's Chamber Futures initiative, where the Chamber works with theUniversity of Bedfordshireto provide workshops and networking opportunities to help prepare students for the world of business.

Natalie was winner of the  Student Employee of the Year – Job Shop Category,Londonand South East Region.   The student  beat competition from more than 10 universities inLondonand the South East to win the coveted prize.

The annual competition, run by the National Association of Student Employment Services (NASES), recognises the achievements of students who work part-time while studying.

The University’s Recruitment Services Manager, Priya Chauhan, nominated Natalie for the award. She said “I nominated Natalie because she is very mature, versatile and hard working.

“She has a great attitude and works really well with students, staff and businesses alike – skills which I’m sure will enable Natalie to be really successful wherever her future career takes her.”

Natalie said: “It was a great compliment to be nominated for the award and a real surprise to win the regional competition.

“I graduate from the University this November and know this distinction will be a fantastic addition to my CV.”

Earlier this year, Natalie also won plaudits from Harpenden, Herts, based digital media company Asset.tv for her work matching Bedfordshire graduates with the firm.

As a regional winner, Natalie attended the national awards ceremony inManchester– she was pipped to the title by Kevin Valdelievre fromAberdeenUniversity.
