Chamber welcomes members and bids farewell to Chairman

Written by Paula Devine | 03 Oct 2012

Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce is preparing to welcome its members to its annual Members’ Showcase and AGM. The event is a great opportunity for members new, old and prospective to meet, network and find out more about Chamber services. As in previous years, some members have taken advantage of the opportunity to exhibit with a range of businesses taking stands.

This year sees the Chamber saying farewell to Brian Hibbert CBE, who has been chairman of the Chamber since 2007. Brian has been a very active Chairman, taking a role in the restructuring of the British Chambers of Commerce and being instrumental in the setting up of SEMLEP, successfully bringing together private and public sector interests.

Brian has represented the Chamber on a number of policy related issues and is a familiar face at networking events.

Said Cheryl Smart MBE, Chief Executive of Bedfordshire Chamber:

‘Brian has been a very popular Chairman. He has worked closely with our staff and indeed knows every one of them by name. He is familiar to many members and has been an effective ambassador, not only for the Chamber but for Bedfordshire. We are extremely grateful for the dedication and commitment he has shown Bedfordshire Chamber of Commerce and wish him well with future plans’
