Focus on helping clients understand and mitigate the impact of their events

Wyboston Lakes Resort is partnering with event:decision to heighten sustainable processes, metrics and best practices at live and hybrid events held at the Resort.

Louisa Watson, Director of Marketing at Wyboston Lakes Resort says: “This collaboration underlines our determination to provide event organisers with formalised processes to plan, deliver and track the impact of events and to make more sustainable decisions. Wide-ranging, detailed, trustworthy data is essential in making informed judgements and event;decision is highly experienced and well-resourced to supply our customers with what they need.”

Matt Grey, Director, event:decision, adds: “We’ve genuinely seen Wyboston Lakes Resort as one of the leading sustainable venues in the UK for many years. To be able to support Wyboston with sustainability data regarding meetings and events shows how far the industry is moving to deliver more sustainable events for our customers. Wyboston is recognised as being one of the most forward-thinking and progressive destinations and it is a great testimonial for us to have become the preferred data insight specialist for live and hybrid events hosted at the resort.”

This is the latest of Wyboston Lakes Resort’s many innovations that reinforce its commitment to its policy of ‘More Sustainability, No Apology.’

Since June 2022, 20,000 eco-conscious guests staying more than one night at Wyboston Lakes Resort have chosen to have a tree planted on the resort instead of having their room cleaned under its Room2Grow initiative.

In September Wyboston Lakes Resort published a 4-year Green Energy Roadmap as the foundation for its plan to become self-sufficient by producing its own green energy using the natural resources available at the Resort, which will help to achieve its Net Zero Carbon Emissions target. The total investment in the development is likely to be more than £5m.

In addition, the Resort has sent zero waste to landfill for seven consecutive years and all electricity used on the site is generated from renewable energy sources, saving more than 1,300 tonnes of Co2 emissions. The Resort is working towards a 2040 Net Zero Carbon Emission Goal.

The Resort has achieved a multitude of sustainability accreditations, including a Platinum accreditation from Greengage Eco-Smart, a Gold Award from Green Tourism and the IACC Gold Star.

The Resort has won several awards for its sustainability initiatives. It recently won the IACC Americas Innovation Award and the Sustainability Award in the prestigious Meetings Industry Association’s miaList 2022. Louisa Watson, Director of Marketing was recognised as Sustainability Industry Champion at the important Greengage Sustainability Awards.
