Unnecessary EU regulations

Written by Paula Devine | 23 Jul 2013

An EU regulation taskforce led by Business Innovation and Skills Minister Michael Fallon is looking for UK firms to help identify unnecessary EU regulations. The taskforce is asking businesses of all sizes and within all sectors to submit evidence of European rules and regulations that create unnecessary barriers to competitiveness,  including barriers to:

  • Starting a business
  • Innovation: including developing, patenting and marketing new products and services
  • Business expansion
  • Exporting
  • Recruiting and hiring staff
  • Overall competitiveness and day-to-day operations

The taskforce is particularly keen to receive contributions from small companies throughout the supply chain. The BCC will be submitting evidence and would welcome views from Chambers and members by 15th  August.  If you have any comments please email them to jenny.angliss@chamber-business.com
