The Disability Resource Centre was very pleased to accept the Disability Smart Award (which was sponsored by Jo Cross Photography) at The Dunstable and Houghton Regis Business & Community Awards. We’d also like to congratulate Big Health and Fitness who secured highly commended.
Melanie Hawman the CEO of The Disability Resource Centre said “I am very proud and pleased to receive recognition of the services that The Disability Resource Centre’s staff, trustees and volunteers work so hard to provide to the people of Houghton Regis and Dunstable. We are privileged to be able to provide wrap around solutions to any person needing help in the area and continue to expand the support we offer and the way in can be accessed. We have a large number of unsung heroes at the centre who make a massive difference to the lives of people living with disability and long term health conditions.”
It was great to see Clare, who delivers training at The Disability Resource Centre’s Care Academy, receive Teacher of the Year for all her hard work in the community and university. Well done to all the deserving and inspiring winners and highly commended including Meaningful Education and Paul Bowen James from Kids in Action.
