A family run business, with father Paul Kamlesh and daughter Tanika Paul at the helm, Copybox has built an excellent reputation for providing a managed print service that is flexible and cost-effective.
Now in its seventh year, the business has gone from strength to strength, growing by 40% in the last year alone and recently winning the Family Business of the Year Award at the SME Bedfordshire Business Awards.
When we caught up with Tanika recently, she said: “We couldn't be prouder. As a father and daughter team, we have poured our hearts into building Copybox together; it's our passion. With the life-long knowledge and respect we have for each other we are able to successfully combine traditional values with a vision for the future.”
We also asked Tanika to tell us a little more about the business, the growth it has experienced, and how it has been achieved.
Family-owned, customer-focused
Paul has been in the print industry for over 30 years and Tanika for over 5, and this experience and strong family connection are just two reasons that Tanika cites for the success of Copybox. She explains, “We have a lot of industry experience and expertise behind us, but by having two different generations in the business, we are able to combine traditional and new outlooks to continually innovate, improve and grow.”
Copybox’s drive is not just about technical knowledge across a wide range of printers and photocopiers, but also a genuine commitment to exceptional customer service. With strong family values, the customer is at the heart of everything Copybox does.
Tanika goes onto say, “We are strong on our service and the majority of new business comes from referrals and recommendations from existing customers. As a family business, our morals and work ethic are unwavering, and our customers trust in us to provide them with a great service.”
Service from a local specialist
The proof of that trust is evident in the loyal customer base that Copybox has, with many customers having relied on Paul’s technical expertise at previous print suppliers, and choosing to move their contracts to Copybox, when he started the business. As Tanika explains, “We have the privilege of working with a wide range of local businesses and schools and pride ourselves on our responsive service. Being locally based, we are easily accessible and take the time to grow close relationships with all our customers, something that a national provider just is not able to do.”
And it’s no wonder their customers stay with Copybox as the team takes the time to “really get to know each customer on a personal level to understand their unique challenges and needs.” Customers can contact the team directly, with no call centres or being placed in a queue, meaning they get the advice, help and support they need as quickly as possible.

“We work hard to provide the best service possible to our clients”, Tankia says, “through our team of 10 qualified and experienced engineers, we are able to respond quickly to all of our customers’ needs.”
And being a family business, brings its own merits as Tanika explains, “We are known as a family business, with myself and my Dad, Paul, recognised throughout Bedfordshire. The fact that we won the Family Business of the Year Award is just brilliant – we are proud to be recognised as a business with family values. Although our whole team aren’t family by blood, we are still a family, with most of our engineers having grown and worked alongside Paul for the last 30 years. We have the utmost trust and respect for our team and this, in turn, enhances customer loyalty and trust as our customers know they can rely on us to be that safe pair of hands.”
What does the future hold for Copybox?
“We want to carry on providing the best photocopier and printer service to the businesses and schools throughout Bedfordshire” explains Tanika. “We enjoy what we do and, if we continue to grow at the same rate, we will count ourselves incredibly lucky.”
