Party at Wyboston Lakes!

Written by Paula Devine | 27 Aug 2013

Families and business people from the Bedfordshire area are invited to an event to mark the 30th anniversary of one of the region’s most successful businesses. Wyboston Lakes Conference and Leisure Centre, close to St Neots, is holding a varied and exciting family fun day on Sunday 1st September from 1 p.m.

The event is open to all, entry is free and there is no need for prior booking. Attractions will include free live entertainment, including a magician, and there will be a barbecue and a Pimm’s tent. The action centres on the venue’s lakeside Waterfront Restaurant Grill, located in Wyboston Lakes Hotel.

From humble beginnings in 1983, Wyboston Lakes has grown to be the UK's largest privately owned single-site residential conference and training centre. Now, thanks to a massive £3.5 million investment over the past two years, it has added important new dimensions to its business.

While elevating the standards of its conference and training facilities even higher, the investment has given the venue major new opportunities in the leisure sector. The most significant development is the venue’s premium Y Spa, opened last November and complementing such facilities as its established and very popular 18 hole golf course. Leisure guests are now a growing element of the business of Wyboston Lakes, and also a popular overnight stop for corporate users.

Set on a private estate, the business was originally created by Potton Construction Developments, which formally adopted the identity of Wyboston Lakes Ltd in 2003. The original conference and training activity is based around two dedicated venues – Wyboston Lakes Executive Centre and Wyboston Lakes Training Centre – which share a large and diverse portfolio of customers ranging from FTSE Top 250 companies and government departments to SMEs, charities and not-for-profit organisations.

“Our family day will be an exciting and memorable occasion for everyone who comes – local people, our key business and leisure clients and, of course, our staff,” commented Wyboston Lakes’ managing director Mark Jones: “With our recent investment, we have entered the most exciting time in 30 years, and we’ll be delighted to share our celebrations with as many people as possible.”
