Chamber connect card eases travel burden

The Chamber, which represents businesses in Bedfordshire and Luton, is pleased to announce that members can now apply for a new service to save valuable time while on the move. The British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) Chamber Connect card will entitle Chamber members to use the facilities of other participating Accredited Chambers of Commerce when away from their home office. This includes the ability to attend networking events and access mailing lists and to be able to take advantage of business facilities including hot-desking and meeting rooms.
The frustration caused by the amount of time wasted when not in meetings often tops the league of complaints from business people who have to travel as part of their job. Other complaints are often at the lack of business facilities available when travelling and having to eat regularly alone.
Cheryl Smart, Commercial Director of the Chamber, said: "Over a third of Chamber members spend on average two days a week out of the office. They are regularly frustrated at the amount of time that is wasted when they are not with clients, suppliers or prospects. They are aware that they are potentially missing out on opportunities to build their networks of business contacts, primarily because they don't have access to the environments that would allow them to do so."
Other Chamber Connect benefits include access to executive lounges in airports across the UK and abroad as well as discounts on hospitality packages for corporate entertainment and networking.
Cheryl concluded:
"Through Chamber Connect, our members can not only reap the benefits of membership in Bedfordshire and Luton but also in the locations where their customers are based. By taking advantage of their facilities, they will be able to increase their networks which we believe will have a positive impact on their business growth and success."
