Chamber helps start-ups with new seminar
08/02/2008
There’s no doubt an entrepreneurial culture is good for the local economy, particularly with the pressing need for jobs to support the planned housing growth for the area. Yet many people in Bedfordshire and Luton shy away from starting their own business due a lack of support and information. The Chamber, which represents businesses in Bedfordshire and Luton, is aiming to meet that need via a new seminar designed to help individuals from Bedfordshire and Luton become successful start-ups.
The seminar is devised and delivered by Chamber members The Ethical Back Office Limited (TEBO), a non-profit making organisation established by experienced and successful professionals keen to share their experience in setting up a diverse range of businesses. Explains Chamber Board Member Pauline Stewart of TEBO:
'The Ethical Back Office is a social enterprise organisation, there to encourage and support organisations to improve output and outcomes – ethically.'
As well as tackling the bread-and-butter issues faced by potential start-ups, such as business planning and regulations, the seminar will offer opportunities for discussion, mutual support and one-to-one advice from experts – all within a highly motivating, fun package.
The seminar, which is open to anyone thinking about starting his or her own business in Bedfordshire and Luton, will be held at the Chamber on Monday 25th February and individuals can chose from two sessions starting at 9am or 1pm. Seminars cost £10, which includes refreshments and course materials. For further information contact Pauline Stewart at Pauline@tebo.org.uk or call 01462 816742.
