E-CERT & A-CERT

Enables EC and Arab Certificates of Origin to be applied for online. Contains a secure database to enable information and certificates to be stored and modified for future use. Enables an export invoice to be produced to accompany the electronic Certificate of Origin application without additional work.  Exporters can now apply and receive their EC Certificates of Origin electronically ready for printing at their own premises.

To access e-cert and a-cert the minimum system specifications are:

  • A computer running Windows 95, 98, NT4/sp3 with 16Mb RAM or more
  • Internet Explorer 5.0 or later
  • An email application such as Outlook, Outlook Express, Lotus Notes etc.
  • A direct connection to the Internet, preferably via ISDN or a leased line, otherwise a 33K baud modem will be sufficient
  • An account with an ISP for both www and email services
  • The selected computers should be capable of internet access for both browsing and email
  • An attached laser printer suitable for printing onto the pre-printed Certificate of Origin. Suitable printers needed to support accurate paper handling and full HP PCL4 compatibility. Examples would be HP LaserJet 4, 5, 6,  4000, 5000.  Any HP LaserJet with the .L. suffix is not suitable eg. HP6L.

Online Procedure

  • Access the E-Cert website at www.cofo.org.uk/bedfordshire
  • The issuing body registration name is Bedfordshire
  • The issuing body password is monkey
  • Upload a scanned certificate to the site (we can scan your signature for you for a small charge)
  • Complete your Certificate of Origin and/or invoice
  • The Certification is ready for collection or posting or submission to the Arab-British Chamber of Commerce.  ECert eXpress replicates the Chambers certification stamps to allow documents to be issued on screen and returned to an exporters email in box within minutes.

This process is quick, efficient, cost effective and professional.
