What's your opinion of Royal Mail? Do they supply the services you need, are they efficient or do you use another supplier? The Chamber is one of ten chambers of commerce across the UK asked to take part in a survey being carried out by the British Chambers of Commerce in conjunction with the Times newspaper. Let us know what you think by taking part in the survey, which takes no more than five minutes to complete and closes on the 2nd May.
Employment laws - what's the impact on your business?
The BCC is undertaking an important project in partnership with Eurochambres, the association representing national Chambers of Commerce across Europe, to assess the impact of key employment policies on economic performance. The project will study employment legislation in the UK, France, Italy, Poland and Sweden and also make comparisons with other EU and non EU countries. The main areas of research will cover maternity/paternity rights, flexible working, working hours, temporary workers and minimum wages. As part of this project the BCC invite you to take part in an online employment survey.
Are regulations burdensome? Now's your chance to tell Central Government what you think.
The British Chambers of Commerce is launching an online database which will allow businesses to submit examples of burdensome regulations. This is a real opportunity for you to make a difference as the BCC will use your examples as part of case studies they intend to submit to Government. Tax simplification - the Tax Reform Commission wants your views.
The British Chambers of Commerce, along with the CBI and Institute of Directors, sit on the Tax Reform Commission (TRC) which was established by the Shadow Chancellor last year. The TRC wish to survey businesses to gather their opinions on the issue of tax simplification. Click here to take part in the survey.
