Arab British Certificate of Origin
The buyers (importers) usually require a Certificate of Origin to:
- meet customs requirements in the importing state
- meet 'quota' requirements imposed by the importing country
- comply with banking requirements or
- require one for other official and commercial reasons
When the sets of documents have been presented to the Chamber, they are forwarded to the Arab-British Chamber for certification. If legalisation is required the Arab-British Chamber forwards the documents to the UK embassy of the importing country. When this has been done the Arab-British Chamber returns the document to the Chamber.
It is essential, therefore, for exporters to allow extra time for presentation of documents and to keep in close touch with their Chamber regarding the return of the documents.
-
